One More Week Until Spring Break!

This week was hectic (as always), but it was far from monotonous. My Spring Break is next week, and I always get jittery the week before, so let's hope I can make it through. I need to, because I have a test and quiz this week. Oh, and I go to the ER at Barnes on Thursday from 2-6 PM, so be sure to stop by sometime in between there in order to have yours truly start your IV ;) I'm so nervous. Let's hope real people are as easy of a stick as our dummies. I really just don't want to be one of those nurses people hate, because they can't find the vein. I'm sure I'll have some interesting stories by Thursday to blog about...well, if that's not a violation of HIPAA...

So I got a call from Macy's this week about working in shoes, and I'm super pumped (pardon the pun there, haha). I love shoes and will be paid on commission, so hopefully I can make a little extra money that way. I'm really excited, and I start this week actually. Everyone come to West County on Saturday for our big sale and buy shoes from me! :) It's almost sad how much I like working at Macy's. If only it paid more I could make a career out of it. I could also make a career out of using my discount to purchase things for myself, oops. And how ironic is this? I went to Macy's Saturday, and one of the ladies in my nursing class was working. And we had never seen each other before or knew we both worked there. She's a really sweet person, too.

I got to see Matt this weekend. He was in town for Model UN, so I hung out with he and his friends from school at Union Station. I'm glad I've gotten to see him every other week lately. It makes things so much easier. I'll see him in a couple more weeks during my Spring Break, so not too much longer!

We gave a choir concer today at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church this afternoon, and it was a great concert I think. That is a beautiful church, and who knew St. Louis had a Polish population?? What I thought was kind of beautiful is that we sang Tchaikovsky's Vespers today, and the Chamber Chorus I was formerly in at DePauw sang Rachmaninov's Vespers today. I'm so grateful to have had the privilege to sing both Vespers (and so much more thankful that the words are the same...saves me some heartache of figuring out new Russian words).

So I leave you with a recording DePauw's Chamber Chorus did last year of Rach's Vespers (which includes me, too).

  1. This is such a positive entry! I'm glad you're doing so well! I definitely want to hear stories about sticking people with needles. :)

  2. can't wait for the needle stories!

i wish working @ macy's could be a long-term thing for you, then i'd come to work with you & we'd sing the "shoes" youtube song all day, every day... i'm sure that'd drum up some decent commissions. ;)
